More About Me
I began my medical training at Flinders University, South Australia before
moving to Queensland to pursue a career in Surgery. In 2003 I won the
national Sir Edward Hughes Clinical Research Prize in Surgery, and gained my
Fellowship in General Surgery in 2008. In 2009 I was appointed as the
Fellow in Breast and General Surgery under the mentorship of Dr Chris Pyke,
Past President of Breast Surgeons of Australia and New Zealand. In 2010, I
was awarded a highly competitive International Fellowship in Oncoplastic
Breast Surgery at The Royal Marsden Cancer Hospital, Chelsea, London, UK
under the mentorship of Miss Fiona MacNeill (current president of the
Association of Breast Surgeons UK) and Mr Gerald Gui.
In 2011 I immigrated with my family to New Zealand, and have since held a
Consultant appointment at Waikato Hospital. I hold ongoing Surgeon
credentialing with BreastScreen Aotearoa and am vocationally registered with
the Medical Council of NZ in General Surgery. I actively participate in
ongoing workshops and conferences, and within the last two years have
acquired new skills in Australia, UK, USA, Italy and France. I believe I
bring a wealth of experience and knowledge in the treatment of my
patients.
