More About Me

I began my medical training at Flinders University, South Australia before moving to Queensland to pursue a career in Surgery. In 2003 I won the national Sir Edward Hughes Clinical Research Prize in Surgery, and gained my Fellowship in General Surgery in 2008. In 2009 I was appointed as the Fellow in Breast and General Surgery under the mentorship of Dr Chris Pyke, Past President of Breast Surgeons of Australia and New Zealand. In 2010, I was awarded a highly competitive International Fellowship in Oncoplastic Breast Surgery at The Royal Marsden Cancer Hospital, Chelsea, London, UK under the mentorship of Miss Fiona MacNeill (current president of the Association of Breast Surgeons UK) and Mr Gerald Gui.

In 2011 I immigrated with my family to New Zealand, and have since held a Consultant appointment at Waikato Hospital. I hold ongoing Surgeon credentialing with BreastScreen Aotearoa and am vocationally registered with the Medical Council of NZ in General Surgery. I actively participate in ongoing workshops and conferences, and within the last two years have acquired new skills in Australia, UK, USA, Italy and France. I believe I bring a wealth of experience and knowledge in the treatment of my patients.

Why See Me

On a deeper level I am passionate about the Early Detection and Management of Breast Cancer, as well as offering a kind and caring approach to every consultation. A serious issue with your health can be extremely stressful. My team and I will endeavour to make the management of your condition as streamlined as possible - providing personalised support whenever it's required.

Should you require surgery, it will be performed at a private hospital in Hamilton; either at Braemar Hospital, Anglesea Hospital or Southern Cross Hospital. I am credentialed for Breast Surgery and General Surgery in all of these hospitals and am a Southern Cross Insurance Affiliated Provider for General Surgery operations.

College of Surgeons

I am a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. This is an important requirement for credentialing as a surgeon in NZ. I am also a Founding Member of BreastSurgANZ - an organisation committed to the quality-assured management of patients with breast cancer.

Short Referral Delays

Because I'm relatively new to Private Practice, the wait time to get an appointment is minimal. Typically, I can arrange to see you within one to two weeks.
